Karaz is a meal and wellness app from Al-Mulhem Company. This policy explains the information we handle when you use Karaz, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

We handle the email address and sign-in details needed to create and secure your account. If you complete your profile, this may include your display name, language, country, date of birth or gender where provided, height, weight and goals, activity level, dietary preferences, and calorie targets.

When you use meal and wellness features, Karaz stores the meal names and descriptions you enter, meal photos you upload, nutrition estimates and corrections, daily summaries, water and weight logs, messages you exchange with Reem, and basic in-app usage events. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, that provider processes your sign-in and shares account information with us as permitted by your provider settings. The website uses session cookies to keep you signed in.

How we use information

We use this information to run your account, analyze and organize meal entries, show your history and progress, personalize app features, answer your questions through Reem, maintain service security, and improve Karaz. Barcode searches may query Open Food Facts for product information.

Service providers

Karaz uses Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage. When you request AI meal analysis or chat with Reem, the relevant photo, text, and context needed to answer may be sent to the AI provider configured for that feature. The current production model uses OpenAI; the provider can vary if the service configuration changes. These providers process information to provide the requested service.

Meal photo access

Meal photos are currently stored in a public storage bucket. A person who obtains the exact URL of a photo may be able to view it. Please do not upload a photo you are not comfortable being accessible through its direct link. Please treat photo links as shareable links, not as private access controls.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information while your account is active and as needed to operate the service. You can request deletion from Profile or Settings in the Karaz app. You can also use our data deletion instructions. Deletion removes your account and associated Karaz data; some cleanup of stored files may take additional time to complete.

Security and your choices

We use service controls intended to protect account and app data, but no online service can promise perfect security. You can choose which profile details to provide, and you can ask us to correct or delete your information by contacting us.
